Crime: Murder, Second Degree, Murder, First Degree - Teresa's entire existence as a Warrior of the Organization is to kill. She wanders her territory to do just that. She has killed youma, awakened beings (Warriors that have lost their humanity), and near the end of her life, humans. It is fitting that this is her crime as it is what has been her life since she was small.

Background: Claymore Wiki

Personality:
Teresa was known as "Teresa of the Faint Smile" because she always killed youma with a small pleasant smile on her lips. She was a ruthless and even heartless killer, and she never had any qualms about dispatching youma or awakened beings. She was always known as the ‘strongest monster’ of her age of Claymores, and she felt no need to suppress her abilities for the favour of her comrades.

In fact, she knew she was the strongest. She was pleasantly arrogant about her strengths as a Claymore, never truly rubbing it in but fully capable of letting others know it. Her comrades feared her, and she kept her distance from them in order to encourage that kind of thinking. She shared very few pleasantries with other Claymores, but she kept herself aware of all of their strengths. She also defended her position as Number 1 ruthlessly until she met Clare, and it was a shock to everyone when she showed mercy to Priscilla.

Before meeting Clare, she completed her job with utmost efficiency, taking enjoyment out of scaring humans that she encountered. She carried the opinion that because the humans were frightened of the Claymores in the first place, why not live up to the reputation? She never attacked or terrorized them physically, but she would make comments and even purposefully splash youma blood on them in order to enforce that she was something they feared. She didn’t want to be bored, after all.

Teresa accepted any job given to her without complaint. Her years of exemplary service to the Organization, despite being a bit of a problem child during her younger years while in training, continued to distance her from anyone she could possibly have a connection with. This included her handler as she never did fully trust the Organization and kept information from them, such as the fact that Rosemary had awakened. As shown in the fight with Rosemary and later with the other high numbers, she bantered verbally with them as a way to remind them that she was clearly stronger and better than they were.

Along with bantering, she was always a brilliant actor. As seen with the fight with Rosemary, she knew that she was completely capable to kill the awakened Claymore, but she played and acted as if she were being taken by surprise and was ‘weaker’ then her opponent. She also did this with the hunting party, especially Noel, Sophia, and Irene, acting as if they had some chance against her when she was really just holding back some of her latent potential to play with them. She really only allowed herself to get ‘serious’ in both cases when it seemed worth her while to do so. This acting was most likely developed as a way of entertaining herself, but also to increase the fear of her being such a strong Claymore.

Without realizing it, Teresa had become lonely, but she had locked away her compassion a long time ago to make herself stronger, to become the monster the Number One inevitably became. She also hid away her feelings of isolation and loneliness until Clare entered the picture.

Teresa was not able to understand why the child latched onto her and pushed the girl away for quite a while. Clare had seen that Teresa was lonely, and she recognized the look deep in her eyes and identified with it because Clare suffered from the same. The earnestness that Clare spoke with when she revealed this to Teresa sparked something the hybrid had locked away – compassion. Once that connection had been made between Teresa and Clare, the hybrid started showing affection toward the girl, purchasing her clothes and letting her sleep using the hybrid's lap as a pillow. That compassion, that connection, was what ultimately led to Teresa's death; however, the new view on life also created a very foreign happiness in Teresa. For once, she was content with her life.

Abilities:
Teresa is a half-human/half-youma hybrid, created by the Organization as a Claymore. The flesh that was implanted in her body gave her specialized abilities that went far beyond human, including increased strength, speed, stamina, perception skills, and the ability to ‘see’ youma in their true forms even if they were hiding as humans. Claymores also require very little food and sleep, but they find the position of sitting up against their swords to be the most comfortable for resting.

Above average in all of her skills, she is an all round great fighter. She has no weakness and no physical attribute is greater than another. Much like all Claymores, she can wield her blade without so much as breaking a sweat, and she can kick an enemy into the air, tear off arms of awakened beings and fight non-stop without too much effort on her part. As stated by Irene, she isn’t technically stronger than they are in their highest skill, but Teresa is able to easily compete on all levels of physical strengths.

Much like other Claymores, she has the ability to regenerate. She can reattach severed limbs, missing eyes, and deep body wounds by concentrating her youki to that area in order to speed healing. Hybrids can even attach the limbs of other Claymores and youma to replace ones they have lost in battle. Teresa, however, has never been placed in a position to need regeneration of a lost limb or severe injury, but she no doubt possesses the knowledge on how to do it.

However, her true power comes from her unparallel ability to sense youki. When a youma, another hybrid or other non-human being moves, attacks or accesses an ability, they unconsciously send youki to that area of their bodies and Teresa is able to sense it. This allows her to know when and where her enemies are going to attack before they even start the action. It allows her to counter perfectly The only time she was hard-pressed was during the fight with Priscilla, but her skills were still greater without the use of her youki-sensing ability.

Youki, the demon-like energy, is what grants hybrids and youma their super-human abilities. With the hybrids, they release controlled amounts of their youki to increase their abilities. A 10% release changes their eyes from silver to a glowing gold. A 30% release causes veins to bulge on their faces. A 50% release distorts their limbs and an 80% release pushes the hybrid past the point of control, forcing them to awaken and become monsters far beyond the youma.

And while she can sense it, Teresa also contains a tremendous amount of youki in her body. It was never canonically stated how powerful she was when it came to youki, but she defeated the potential next number 1 on the eve of awakening with just releasing 10% of her powers. In fact, she has defeated those awakened beings by herself and never goes beyond 10%. She rivals the power of all Claymores, and this is why Teresa is and will probably be the strongest Claymore to ever live.
